FFXIV Goes On 60% Sale on Steam Ahead of Dawntrail Release

Could this be the last major sale before the release of Dawntrail?

The Steam edition of Final Fantasy XIV has gone on sale, dropping the price of the game’s latest expansion by up to 60 percent. Per a post on the game’s official social media, FFXIV will be on sale for a limited time.

The sale began late on March 14 as part of the Steam Spring Sale and will continue until March 21 at 10am PST. As part of the sale, multiple game editions have slashed prices.

The Final Fantasy XIV Online - Complete Edition, which usually retails for $59.99, is marked down to $23.99 during the sale. The Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker - Collector’s Edition is also $23.99, and Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker - Standard Edition is listed at $15.99. You can check out this guide on purchasing FFXIV or the Steam store page for more details on what each of these editions includes.

FFXIV sporadically goes on sale on Steam, usually in line with Steam’s seasonal sales. Endwalker last went on sale briefly in January, but it was back in July 2023 when the game last had this kind of discount. FFXIV’s digital PC versions also went on sale earlier this year, but those sales do not affect Steam’s pricing.

With FFXIV’s next expansion, Dawntrail, set for release sometime Summer 2024, Square Enix has put the game on sale at the perfect time. Hype and excitement are starting to build around one of the biggest MMO releases of the year, and for those beginning to feel the FOMO, a sale like this is the perfect chance to pick up the game before the new expansion drops.
