While today marks the start of the Final Fantasy XIV open beta on Xbox Series X|S, Square Enix made sure existing players have plenty to celebrate as they announce the return of the Final Fantasy XV crossover event to the game. The event, which last ran back in September 2021, had its return revealed on social media and the official Lodestone site early this morning.
Per the post, the event will run from Wednesday, Feb. 28, at midnight PT until Wednesday, March 13, at 7:59 am PT. The event will be exactly the same as previous events, although that’s not a bad thing, as the rewards for this crossover have always been some of the best available.
Namely, the incredible Regalia Type-G four-seater mount. The Regalia is the iconic car that gave Final Fantasy XV its “four bros on a road trip” aesthetic and is one of the few four-person mounts available in the FFXIV. When the event is on, you have the ability to unlock the Regalia for 200,000 MGP from the Golden Saucer, as well as some other rewards, both from the quest and traders.

Rewards for the FFXIV x FFXV crossover event
These rewards include a Lucian Prince glamour set, Noctis’ hairstyle as a Modern Aesthetics unlockable, some Orchestrion Rolls of tracks from FFXV, and a pretty decent Triple Triad card. Unlike most event quests, though, this one requires players to be at least level 50, not level 15. This may make it more difficult for new players to grab that incredible four-seater mount, but it’s definitely worth it if they manage to complete the grind.
Square Enix went all out on promoting FFXV back in the day, releasing this event in April 2019 for the first time, and the rewards show. It re-ran it again in 2021, and this is the first time it’s returned since.
In 2018, Final Fantasy XV had its own in-game crossover with FFXIV, where Noctis and his companions met a Miqo’te called Y’jhimei and aided her in fighting Garuda. That quest rewarded players with FFXIV attires and a new summon.
Square Enix has made sure to make the final few months of the FFXIV: Endwalker patch cycle an event-filled occasion. The return of the FFXV event is just the latest in a series of Moogle Tomestone events, annual celebrations, and crossover events that have filled the early part of 2024.
