FFXIV 6.15 Patch Notes Summary: New Mount, Minion, Quests, and More

Patch notes are upon us for FFXIV 6.15. Here's our breakdown of everything including how to unlock the new content and the latest Job changes.

Another update for Final Fantasy XIV is upon us, and the patch notes for FFXIV 6.15 have been published. Most of what’s outlined in the official patch notes is new content we’ve known about ahead of time. However, we know have definitive details on how to unlock these new quests. Additionally, there are some minor Job changes for PVP, bug fixes, new furnishing, and items (including a new minion and mount) to snag in FFXIV 6.15.

Here, we’re going to breakdown the pertinent information in the FFXIV 6.15 patch notes to help you figure out what’s most important.

How to Start the Omega: Beyond the Rift Quest

If you’ve completed both Endwalker MSQ and the Omega raid series from Stormblood, you will be able to access the Omega: Beyond the Rift questline made available in FFXIV Patch 6.15. It starts with a quest called “A Heartless Hypothesis” from the NPC named Bespectacled Technician in Old Sharlayan (X: 10.9, Y: 14.3). The follow-up quest is called “Goodbye, ε̆│\̆│Δ” and I think that’s kind of cute, but I’m afraid it might make me sad.

You will need to have completed Endwalker MSQ (ending with the quest “Endwalker”) and use a level 90 combat Job to take on these new quests. If you need help clearing the requirements, check out our Omega: Beyond the Rift unlock and raid quests guide.

Tataru’s Grand Endeavor Start Quest Location

It’s time for business. Tataru’s Grand Endeavor will take you on a fashionable and monetaristic adventure with Scions’ bookkeeper. It starts with the quest “Small Business, Big Dreams” from the NPC named Mehdijna in Old Sharlayan (X: 11.8, Y: 9.8). In order to access this quest, you need to have finished Patch 6.1 MSQ (all the way through “Newfound Adventure”) and you must use a level 90 Job.

Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventures Quest Location

I can’t believe the FFXIV team made us wait a whole expansion to link up with our boy, the inspector extraordinaire Hildibrand Manderville again. We’ll be able to see what he’s been up to since getting roughed up and pulled through a Rift years ago. Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventures kicks off with the quest titled “The Sleeping Gentleman” from the NPC named Excitable Youth in Radz-at-Han (X: 11.8, Y: 11.2).

As expected, you will need to have finished Endwalker MSQ (ending with the quest “Endwalker”) and the previous Hildibrand questline from the Stormblood patch cycle (ending with the quest “Don’t Do the Dewprism”). If you need guidance on the older quests, use our Hildibrand quests and locations guide.

How to Unlock the Ameliance Custom Deliveries

Here’s the content everyone’s been waiting for — doing chores for Ameliance Leveilleur. Custom Deliveries are tasks specifically for crafters and gatherers, as seen from previous expansions. To start these new ones, you will need to complete the new quest titled “Of Mothers and Merchants” from the NPC Well-dressed Attendant in Old Sharlayan (X: 12.6, Y: 9.7).

In order to access this new quest, make sure you have completed Endwalker MSQ (ending with the quest “Endwalker”) and finished the quest “Go West, Craftsman” (level 60 Disciples of the Land or Hand) which high-level crafters and gatherers should have done already. To take on Custom Deliveries for Ameliance, you will need to use a crafting or gathering Job at level 80 or higher.

You can complete a total of 12 custom deliveries per week. There are two additional quests that unlock once you reach satisfaction level 4 and 5 with Ameliance. Once you max out her satisfaction level, you will be able to cast glamour on Ameliance — be sure you stock up on Glamour Prisms. Oh boy.

How to Unlock the Arkasodara Tribal Quests

The elephant folk of Thavnair are first up in the batch of Tribal Quests for Endwalker. In order to access the Arkasodara Tribal Quests, you will need to have finished two prerequisite sidequest series then the follow-up quest titled “A Budding Adventure” beforehand, and completed Endwalker MSQ. (Be sure to use our full guide on the prerequisite quests to unlock the Arkasodara Tribal Quests.)

Once all that’s done, you can take on the quest titled “Hippos Born to Run” from the NPC named Kancana in Thavnair (X: 25.3, Y: 31.2). You may then access the daily Arkasodara Tribal Quests. You’ll be able to take on these new Tribal Quests with any combat Job at level 80 or higher — they are subject to quest sync, so the difficulty and enemy level will automatically adjust based on the level of your equipped Job. It appears that there will be five Tribal Quests on the daily.

Completing the daily quests will reward you with Arkasodara Pana, the new Tribal currency, which you can use at the Arkasodara Tribe vendor located in Thavnair (X: 20.4, Y: 28.4).

New Housing Furnishing from the 2019 Design Contest

For those lucky enough to have a house, FC house, or apartment can feast their eyes on some new furnishing. Most of the ones added in Patch 6.15 were featured in the 2019 furnishing design contest. You can check them out in the screenshots below.

This fourth piece of furnishing is not from the design contest and is instead one that nods to the Magus Sisters who you faced at the end of the Tower of Zot dungeon in Endwalker.

By the way, if you’re still looking for a house, you can check out our FFXIV housing lottery schedule that we’ll continually update to help you look out for a housing plot in these trying times.

FFXIV 6.15 PVP Job Changes

Surprisingly, there is very little changed with regards to Jobs in Patch 6.15. There are literally no changes outside of PVP. That said, the PVP adjustments are relatively minor. Ninja had Shukuchi and Meisui nerfed by a bit, and Black Mage had a few of its Patch 6.11a buffs removed. (Director and producer Naoki Yoshida previously spoke about how the team may have went too far with the recent Black Mage buffs.)

Ninja (PVP)

  • Shukuchi: The Hidden effect will dispel if you use Sprint.
  • Meisui: Base cure potency has been reduced to 8,000 from 10,000.

Black Mage (PVP)

  • Paradox: Charges have been removed.
  • Night Wing: Half-asleep effect no longer reduces movement speed.
  • Soul Resonance: Apocatastasis damage debuff effect reduced to 10% from 20%.

If you still haven’t touched the new and improved FFXIV multiplayer, you should, because it’s pretty good. Afterward, be sure to check out our in-depth Crystalline Conflict guide and complete PVP Jobs tier list.

Adorable New Mount and Minion

The FFXIV 6.15 patch notes include screenshots of the new hippo cart mount (which we assume to be the ultimate reward from the Arkasodara Tribal Quests) and a cute little Arkasodara minion. You can check them out in the images below.

Miscellaneous Updates and FFXIV 6.15 Bug Fixes

There are a lot finer details outlined in the FFXIV 6.15 patch notes, and we’ve compiled some of the more notable changes and additions.

  • Patch notes mention that new items, recipes, fish, teeming waters, and orchestration rolls have been added, but have not been listed yet.
  • All Moonward gear pieces (item level 570) can be sold, desynthesized, or turned in for expert deliveries.
  • Get ready for that sweet new theme song for the Arkasodara Tribal Quests.
  • Some new Triple Triad opponents and cards have been added.
  • Some UI corrections made for certain PVP Jobs.
  • Bug fixes to Crystalline Conflict:
    • Cloud Nine map glitch that would move the Crystal in the wrong direction.
    • Bug where a team wouldn’t be awarded winner after reaching 100% progress.
    • Bug where a match would mistakenly result in a draw during overtime.
