Valentine's Day is fast approaching, and while some may shun this festival of romance, there’s still something magical about a day devoted to shows of affection and love. That extends even into Final Fantasy XIV, where the game has its own in-universe equivalent, Valentione's Day. As a result, it’s the perfect time to show the special FFXIV fan in your life some love.

While FFXIV is lucky to have a lot of cute characters, there’s few that pull the heartstrings like Alpha, the cute chocobo companion you meet during the Omega quest line. The Encyclopaedia of Eorzea series takes the dramatic and expansive lore of FFXIV and gives even more insight. The series just added a third volume to its collection. This one will require a little more time and money, so we suggest you get started right away if you want to use this gift idea. A custom art commission of your sweetheart's Warrior of Light could be just the thing to show you care.

There’s a lot of services and websites that make it easier to commission artists, such as Skeb, or ToonDoodles, which are popular with gamers and anime fans. But if you see an artist with open commissions on Twitter/X, that could work as well. You’ll definitely get bonus points if your sweetie has a favorite artist as well.

A Cute Minion

Barring the rare case where you FFXIV Valentine is a fanatical collector who has every minion in the game, a new minion is a perfect in-game gift. If you’re a high-level Weaver, we’d recommend going for the crafted minions, so you can put some extra love and care into the gift. Especially considering the crafted minions are often ones that many people have missing from their collection.

Alternatively, a trip to the market board will secure you a perfect gift for Valentines day. Just make sure they don’t already have the one you’re crafting! You can check their Lodestone page to see if they have the one you're looking to get for them.

A Bouquet of Flowers

Did you know there’s a unique Florist NPC in New Gridania called Tanie? Located at X:11.0 Y:11.1, Tanie sells bouquets of flowers to decorate your in-game housing. You can use this to surprise your Valentine with flowers by sending them via Moogle Mail.

Another cute gesture might be to send them a single Azyema Rose. The item itself isn’t very rare or valuable, but the meaning is instantly understandable.

Something Delicious

We don’t just mean sending them some consumable food (although I’m sure they’d love 999 eggs). Instead, why not spring for some of the amazing decorative furnishing foods that can also be eaten? An in-game FC and social venue is playing Cupid again this year, and players who want to send a surprise gift to their friends, FC mates or loved ones, can pick out some items to send along with a note. Those who want to surprise their Valentine can place an order on the form and on Feb. 14, the Cupids will deliver your chosen gift along with whatever message you've chosen. While you could just give them the gift yourself, ther'es always a little something special about knowing the gift giver went through some extra hoops to get it to you.
