FFXIV Radiant Roborant is a type of upgrade currency used to enhance Level 90 “Radiant” weapons. This refers to any accessories using the prefix “Radiant’s” — such as the Radiant’s Battleaxe.
You can purchase Radiant weapons from the NPC Cihanti in Radz-at-Han (X: 10.8, Y: 10.4). Otherwise known as the Tomestone Exchange vendor in that city. However, Radiant weapons require both normal Tomestones and one Discal Tomestone. Which you can acquire for four “Unsung Blade of Asphodelos” items. You must then purchase Discal Tomestones from either Djole in Radz-at-Han (X: 10.3, Y: 9.7) or Mylenie in Labyrinthos (X: 8.3, Y: 27.6).
Final Fantasy XIV expansions always include similar vendors used to purchase similar gear for each expansion, but only up to that expansion’s maximum level. The process then resets with a new NPC in a new city with each paid expansion.
Radiant armor, Radiant weapons, and Radiant accessories specifically begin at Item Level 590 with a requirement of Job Level 90. However, they can be upgraded to Item Level 600 “Augmented” gear at the cost of one Radiant Twine, Radiant Roborant, or Radiant Coating respectively. Continuing the example from earlier, the Radiant’s Battleaxe would become the Augmented Radiant’s Battleaxe.
You must finally take both your chosen weapon and the Radiant Roborant to Khaldeen, the Gear Exchange merchant in Radz-at-Han. He is also found at coordinates (X: 10.8, Y: 10.4). Just look right next to Cihanti.
Radiant Roborant can specifically be obtained via one of two methods. You can purchase it with Asphodelos Mythos III tomes (acquired from the Asphodelos: The Third Circle Savage raid) and, starting with FFXIV Patch 6.18, you it’s also available for one Aglaia Coin (available from the Aglaia Alliance Raid). It is the only one of the three Radiant upgrade materials not available for purchase by exchanging Sacks of Nuts.
