Final Fantasy XIV’s next expansion, Dawntrail, is only a few short months away, as per the July 2 release date unveiled at PAX East. As a result, Square Enix has unveiled the pre-orders for the event, with and you (at the time of writing) have less than 24 hours to wait.
However, there's a few wrinkles and details to be aware of with pre-orders, and their detailed below.
When do FFXIV Dawntrail pre-orders start?
Pre-orders for both the Standard and Collector’s Editions of FFXIV: Dawntrail start from Tuesday, March 26, at 9am PDT. However, pre-order release dates will vary by region and retailer. For example EU Square Enix Store pre-orders start at 9am (GMT). Additionally, Steam pre-order releases differ in some regions. Below we've listed each time for quick reference.

What do the FFXIV Dawntrail pre-orders include?
Pre-orders are available for both the Standard and Collector’s Editions of FFXIV: Dawntrail. This includes the limited and potentially highly sought-after physical Collector's Box which includes a Viper Statue, Adventurer’s Map of Tural, and other physical boons. In addition to securing your copy of the game, every pre-order gives you early access to Dawntrail, meaning you’ll have access from June 28, at 2am PDT, rather than Tuesday, July 2. The four or five-day head start (depending on the release time on July 2) is a definite must-have for those looking to dodge queues and experience all Dawntrail has to offer as soon as possible.
All players who pre-order, regardless of the edition they buy, will also receive the Wind-up Zidane Minion and Azeyma's Earrings, an in-game item which gives increases EXP earned by 30% when level 90 and below. These items will be delivered through the Square Enix Store to your account, and will arrive before the release of Dawntrail as soon as your order can be confirmed.
