On Sept. 24, hosting a Live Letter from the Tokyo Game Show, Final Fantasy XIV director and lead developer Naoki Yoshida and community manager and producer Toshio “Foxclon” Murouch sat down to showcase some of the content coming to the game in Patch 6.5. As part of this, Yoshida showcased some of the mounts and minions coming to FFXIV in the upcoming patch.
Below are all the revealed minions and mounts being added to the game. Bear in mind all the information below is preliminary and unconfirmed. Speculative ways of obtaining the mounts and minions are also included.
All Mounts Confirmed for FFXIV Patch 6.5
Fairy Mount
This fairy mount appears to be the size of a regular character and carries the player in their arms. It is unrelated to other fairies in the game, implying it could potentially be the reward for completing all Extreme Trials.
Lunatender Mount
The Lunatender mob was a viral sensation when Endwalker first released, and now, finally, the strange moon-bound flora is becoming a usable mount. It’s unknown what the prerequisites for obtaining this mount will be, but it’s speculated it will be related to Allied Tribal quests.

Motor Trike Mount
This Magitek vehicle is the third motorcycle mount added in recent patches. As Yoshida stated during the Live Letter, their development team has a soft spot for motorcycles. It’s speculated that this is another Island Sanctuary mount, as was the Garlond GL-II mount in Patch 6.2.
UFO Mount
Perhaps the only mount shown on Sept. 24 that we have a good idea where it’s unlocked from; this unidentified flying object appears to be in the middle of abducting the Warrior of Light when mounted. It’s highly likely to be unlockable from the Somehow Further Hildibrand Adventures quests added in patch 6.55.
All Minions Confirmed for FFXIV's Patch 6.5
Beach Mammet Minion
This adorable creature is sporting a rubber ring and a sun hat. Speculation has already started swirling that this will be part of the Island Sanctuary update in Patch 6.5. If this is the case, then it will be purchased with Island Cowries.

Stone Head Minion
The Stone Head Minion reminds players of The Sunken Temple of Qarn, but it's doubtful that’s where it’ll drop. Instead, it's speculated to be related to the Island Sanctuary, and purchasable with Island Cowries.
