How To Get All The Kamuy Mounts in FFXIV

The Nine Tails turns you into the next Hokage

Reinforcing the eastern vibes Stormblood brought to the game, Final Fantasy XIV added the Kamuy mounts for players to ride throughout The Far East and beyond. By drawing inspiration from divine beings, each Kamuy presents a unique design.

The Kamuy are wolf-like magical creatures that emanate magical flames, an outstanding design that leaves everyone itching to hunt them. Adding all the Kamuy mounts to their collection might take some time, but by doing so players are rewarded with an even cooler mount, the Kamuy of the Nine Tails.

How to get all the Kamuy Mounts in FFXIV

The Kamuy are unique mounts that players can only get as rewards for completing the Stormblood Extreme Trials once they've reached level 70. Players can get them directly from the chest at the end of the fight, or they can exchange Totems, also earned in the Trials, for the mount. Since none of these items can be traded and sold, there is no other way to get them than finding a group and clearing the Extreme Trials.

Players can complete all the Stormblood Extreme Trials unsyced with a max level character, which makes things easier and it doesn’t affect the mount's drop rate. At the same time, players always earn one Totem when a boss is defeated. Once players collect 99 of them – which means completing the fight 99 times –, they can go to Rhalgr’s Reach and talk to Eschina at X: 13.8 Y: 11.8 to exchange the Totems for the mount.

Reveling Kamuy

This was one of the two first Kamuy mounts players could get when Stormblood was released. The Reveling Kamuy unlocks by using the Reveling Kamuy Fife earned by defeating Susano in The Pool of Tribute (Extreme) trial or exchanging Revel Totems. To unlock this fight, players need to talk to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane at X: 11.6 Y: 12.6 who gives the “Songs in the Key of Kugane” quest. Completing it gives players access to the fight.

Blissful Kamuy

To either have the chance to earn the Blissful Kamuy Fife or collect Bliss Totems to buy the item, players need to defeat Sri Lakshmi in the Emanation (Extreme) trial. They can access the trial by completing the “Songs in the Key of Kugane” quest. To do so, players need to talk to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane at X: 11.6 Y: 12.6.

Legendary Kamuy

In The Minstrel’s Ballad: Shinryu’s Domain, players face the Extreme version of the final Stormblood Trial. By defeating Shinryu once more, players have the chance to earn the Legendary Kamuy Fife, and completing the duty rewards all players with one Shinryu Totem. To access this fight, players need to talk to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane at X: 11.6 Y: 12.6 and complete the “Songs in the Key of Kugane” quest.

Auspicious Kamuy

To add the Auspicious Kamuy mount to their collection, players must get the Auspicious Kamuy Fife. To get this item, they can either collect Byakko Totems or earn it after defeating Byakko in The Jade Stoa (Extreme) trial. Players need to unlock the fight by talking to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane at X: 11.6 Y: 12.6, who gives them the “Songs in the Key of Kugane” quest.

Lunar Kamuy

The Lunar Kamuy is the mount players can get from The Minstrel’s Ballad: Tsukuyomi’s Pain trial. Completing this fight might reward players with a Lunar Kamuy Fife, although players always earn one Lunar Totem after beating the boss. To have the chance to face the stronger version of Tsukuyomi, players need to complete the “Songs in the Key of Kugane” quest, given by the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane at X: 11.6 Y: 12.

Euphonious Kamuy

The blazing Euphonious Kamuy is the mount that players might earn by defeating Suzaku in the Hell’s Kier (Extreme) trial. In any case, they can exchange Suzaku Totems for an Euphonious Kamuy Fife as well. To unlock it, they need to talk to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane at X: 11.6 Y: 12.6.

Hallowed Kamuy

The last regular Kamuy mount added to the game was the Hallowed Kamuy. To earn this mount, players need the Hallowed Kamuy Fife, one of the drops found in The Wreath of Snakes (Extreme) trial or bought with Seiryu Totems. To unlock this duty, players need to talk to the Wandering Minstrel in Kugane at X: 11.6 Y: 12.6.

How to get the Kamuy of the Nine Tails

Acquiring the seven Kamuy mounts is not easy. But to reward players who were successful in doing so, FFXIV gives them a special mount, the Kamuy of the Nine Tails. Players can only acquire the Kamuy of the Nine Tails by completing the “A Lone Wolf No More” quest, which is given by News Hawker in Kugane at X: 11.6 Y: 9.9. This quest becomes available only to those that have all Kamuy mounts. By completing it, players receive the Fabled Kamuy Fife.
