Each of the many jobs in Final Fantasy XIV has its own story to tell that is separated from the game's Main Scenario Quests, ranging from the low levels of A Realm Reborn to the later Stormblood expansion. As the battle-oriented jobs retired their Job Quests in favor of the all-encompassing Role Quests since Shadowbringers, so did the crafting and gathering roles in the form of Crystarium Deliveries.
Crystarium Deliveries follow the Warrior of Light's efforts to assist the Crystalline Mean, a collective of five different facets specializing in specific trades and skills to provide for the people of The Crystarium. These five facets have their own quest lines, but you can only progress through each one as a specific Disciple of the Hand or Land job pertaining to the facet's trade.
The five facets of The Crystalline Mean and the level 70 jobs they require are:
- The Facet of Forging - Blacksmith, Armorer or Goldsmith
- The Facet of Crafting - Carpenter, Leatherworker or Weaver
- The Facet of Nourishing - Alchemist or Culinarian
- The Facet of Gathering - Botanist or Miner
- The Facet of Fishing - Fisher
Each facet contains three quests; beginning at level 70, the halfway mark at level 75, and the conclusion at level 80. Between these three quests are the general deliveries that make up "the meat" of the Crystarium Deliveries. Turning in items rewards experience and scrips, making Crystarium Deliveries an excellent method for leveling a Disciple of the Hand or Land if you focus on only one job in each facet.
How to unlock Crystarium Deliveries and its five facets in FFXIV
Before you can begin delivering materials to one of the five facets, you'll need to unlock Crystarium Deliveries to make them available. After completing the Main Scenario Quest "The Crystarium's Resolve" and unlocking the ability to craft and gather Collectables from the quest "Inscrutable Tastes", head to The Crystarium and speak with Katliss (X: 11.0, Y: 8.5) as a level 70 Disciple of the Hand or Land job to take the quest "The Crystalline Mean."
Providing materials to The Crystalline Mean is similar to Custom Deliveries, which tasks players with delivering a specific quantity of high-quality items to progress through each step. Since each facet except for the Facet of Fishing covers multiple jobs, which of the available jobs you choose is up to you.
The Facet of Forging - Blacksmith, Armorer, Goldsmith
The Facet of Forging begins by taking the quest "Iola, Forgemaster" from Iola in The Crystarium (X: 11.4, Y: 8.7) as a level 70 Blacksmith, Armorer or Goldsmith. As any of the three mentioned Disciple of the Hand jobs, you're required to craft the following materials as you progress:

After completing all five facets of Crystarium Deliveries, the Crystalline Mean has one final quest for you to recognize the hard work you've put in. Speak to Katliss in The Crystarium (X: 11, Y: 8.5) to take the quest "For Every Child a Star," which gives the achievement "The Golden Mean." Unlocking this achievement allows you to purchase Metal Work Lanterns, Wooden Work Lanterns, Alchemical Lanterns, Firebloom, and Seastone Braziers from any Scrip Exchange for White Crafters' Scrips.
