The Ketchcrash event is a new activity that has seen its debut in Destiny 2 Season of Plunder. Following on the signature theme of the season, you’ll be moving through different stations until you get to board a massive pirate ship. The problem is that some players have encountered a Destiny 2 Ketchcrash bug that isn’t allowing them to get the rewards or progress through quests related to the event (mainly Ahoy and Aweigh). If you’re one of them, we might have a few workarounds that can help.
First of all, make sure you’ve equipped at least one piece of seasonal armor. This has been mentioned a few times as a possible solution. If I remember correctly, I was using the armor pieces that were given as the Gift of the Thunder Gods pack in the H.E.L.M. space. Make sure to see if that helps on your end.
Another possible solution is to stay in the quest until the timer runs out as opposed to leaving as soon as the activity is done and heading back to orbit or somewhere else. Other users have reported that restarting the game worked on their end, as well as pulling your Ghost out and keeping it that way when you open the chest. Bungie has reported this as a possible solution as well, encouraging people to wait until the Scoreboard appears and the timer returns you to Orbit.
While we investigate progress delays for the Ahoy and Aweigh quest, a potential workaround to obtain progress for the Ketchcrash activity is to wait until the Scoreboard appears and the Activity timer returns you to Orbit.

It seems that Bungie is looking into it, and could be an issue related to general delays in terms of reward drops. As another tweet indicates, there’s another issue that could also be affecting quest progress. At least for now, I hope that any of the workarounds can help with the Destiny 2 Ketchcrash bug!
