Although we are still about a month away from Season 23, things are looking great for veteran and new Destiny 2 players regarding in-game economic changes and overall quality-of-life improvements. The This Week In Destiny blog post gave a peek at one of the major changes happening next season, the lowered energy cost for applying Ghost mods.
Being able to set up the ideal mods for your Ghost and overall build can sometimes feel like a game of Tetris, with each mod using a rather large amount of energy. Things will change though, many of the useful Ghost mods will decrease their energy cost, creating space for more mod combinations. With 10 available slots, players can build their Ghost with a variety of mods. Here is a list of the announced changes for the Ghost mod energy costs:
Mod Name | Current Energy Cost | New Energy Cost (Season 23) |
Combo Detector | 5 | 1 |
Wombo Detector | 6 | 2 |
Mobility Armorer | 3 | 2 |
Resilience Armorer | 2 | 2 |
Recovery Armorer | 4 | 2 |
Strength Armorer | 3 | 2 |
Intellect Armorer | 4 | 2 |
Discipline Armorer | 3 | 2 |
Core Harvest | 4 | 1 |
Prism Harvest | 6 | 3 |
Modularity | 4 | 3 |
Prosperity | 3 | 3 |
While some mods stay the same, most of them have a substantial energy cost discount. This is only one of the many currency changes that will take place during Season 23. Not long ago, Bungie announced that Legendary Shards will be discontinued in favor of using Glimmer and ritual engrams, and Master Rahool allows a cheaper exchange between Enhancement Prism and Enhancement Cores — as well as getting Ascendant Shards and Alloys by spending Enhancement Prisms.
With a bit over a week left in the Festival of the Lost event, players still have time to collect Eerie Engrams and use Hocus Focusing to get armor pieces from past Destiny 2 expansions. Players can also participate in Haunted Sectors – and their Legend version – to defeat Headless Ones for Manifested Pages.
