Destiny 2’s latest reprised raid, Crota’s End, comes with some of the best raid weapons in the game. One of them is Fang of Ir Yut, a Strand Rapid-Fire Frame Scout Rifle. As is the case with raid weapons, it has an exciting perk pool that can shine in both PVE and PVP. Here’s how players can get the Fang of Ir Yut and what the best rolls are for PVE and PVP.
How to Get Fang of Ir Yut
Fang of Ir Yut drops from the first and second encounters of the reprised Crota’s End raid. Players can get an additional Fang of Ir Yut from the raid’s secret chests too. To craft this weapon, players will need five Deepsight patterns, and the red-border Deepsight Fang of Ir Yut version has a chance to drop in the raid. Also, players can buy one red-border of Fang of Ir Yut every week from the Crota’s sword vendor for 25 Spoils of Conquest. Additionally, completing the raid’s weekly red-border puzzle can give a random raid weapon with Deepsight at the end of the raid. Alternatively, players can use Deepsight Harmonizers on a non-Deepsight Fang of Ir Yut to speed up its pattern progress.
Fang of Ir Yut God Rolls
Fang of Ir Yut PVE God Roll
- Arrowhead Brake
- Appended Mag or Armor-Piercing Rounds
- Rapid Hit or Shoot to Loot
- High Ground or Precision Instrument or Sword Logic
- Masterwork: Stability or Range
Fang of Ir Yut is a powerhouse in PVE with Rapid Hit and Shoot To Loot are no-brainers in the third column. The fourth column has some really strong perks to choose from, but it depends on how you want to use this scout rifle. Precision Instrument covers all bases, it offers bonus damage upon dealing sustained precision damage. On the other hand, High Ground offers a flat bonus to damage for simply being on a higher ground than an enemy, which takes care of enemies from a distance. Sword Logic is a great damage perk that combines Rampage and Killing Tally to offer stacks of damage that increase depending on the tier of enemy you defeat. Sword Logic requires a bit more effort to activate than the others, but the damage bonus you can get is well worth it. Each weapon from Crota’s End has an exclusive origin trait called Cursed Thrall. Cursed Thrall states that “after defeating a target with a melee attack, final blows with this weapon cause targets to explode for a short duration.” These explosions are a great bonus to go with using this scout.
Fang of Ir Yut PVP God Roll
- Extended Barrel
- Ricochet Rounds
- Rapid Hit or Keep Away
- Kill Clip or High Ground or Precision Instrument or Sword Logic
- Masterwork: Range
Fang of Ir Yut’s perk pool has everything you could want from a scout rifle in today’s PVP sandbox. Rapid Hit and Keep Away are excellent choices in the third column. Rapid Hit offers bonus stability on sustained precision hits and Keep Away offers a bonus to range, reload speed and accuracy. For the fourth column, there are several perks to choose from. Kill Clip is a classic damage perk that has stood the test of time, and it is a staple in PVP for good reason. Precision Instrument’s escalating damage bonus tied to sustained precision is a strong pick for PVP, as is Sword Logic’s damage bonus. High Ground can be very special as players can combine damage buffs like Radiant and Empowering Rifts to get some speedy kills in the Crucible. Hatchling is a niche choice for 3V3 Crucible modes — like the Competitive playlist and Trials of Osiris — as getting a precision kill can spawn a hatchling, which could prevent enemy teams from reviving. For stats, you want to build into range as scout rifles thrive the most at long distances.
