Destiny 2 Season of the Worthy is here. After last season’s Empyrean Foundation efforts, gathering Polarized Fractaline, and reconstructing The Lighthouse, the Trials of Osiris are back. It’s a critical addition for high-level PVP players due to the fact that Iron Banner was relatively infrequent, and not really representative of competitive play. It’s hard to get a full fireteam of six people together! And even when you do, the game usually matches you up with a patchwork of players that don’t really stand a chance. For those unfamiliar with the game mode, we’ve put together a Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris Guide which explains what it is, runs down the rewards, and more!
Trials of Osiris Dates
The Trials of Osiris are open every weekend from Friday to Sunday.
What is Trials of Osiris?
Trials of Osiris is a PVP endgame for Destiny 2. It’s a highly competitive 3v3 Crucible mode where players fight in round based Elimination matches.
Matches are tracked by a score card that records your results. Once you have a fresh card, you’re free to play to your heart’s content. That is, until your run ends when you either get seven wins or three loses. You can enter as frequently as you like though there may be a cost to opening another card.
A big focus of Trials is going flawless, or attaining seven wins without a single loss. Though there are reports of a consumable boon which forgives a single loss, meaning you could go 6-1 and still go to the lighthouse — a place the game brings you when you go flawless.
Note: You must be at least Power Level 960 to access the gamemode. Power level rewards are enabled so the first few weeks may be rough.
Do I Really Need to Be Perfect?
No! You can earn most rewards simply by playing. Get multiple wins in a row to earn Pinnacle gear. Win seven in a row to earn additional rewards and special access to The Lighthouse which contains a chest with an exclusive sparrow.
Trials of Osiris Rewards
Trials of Osiris, of course, comes with its own gear set. All weapons and armor are earned by completing Trials of Osiris challenges. When we have specifics on what that means, we’ll be sure to add it here.
This includes:
- The Scholar – Kinetic Scout Rifle
- Astral Horizon – Kinetic Shotgun
- Eye of Sol – Kinetic Sniper Rifle
- The Summoner – Solar Auto Rifle
- Exile’s Curse – Arc Fusion Rifle
- Tomorrow’s Answer – Void Rocket Launcher
- Trials of Osiris Head
- Trials of Osiris Arms
- Trials of Osiris Chest
- Trials of Osiris Legs
- Trials of Osiris Class Item
In addition, there is a Trials exclusive ghost which can randomly drop from wins. (Seen below)
Bounties
With last season’s activities gone, Saint-14 has taken over as the Trials vendor. Each week he’ll offer weekly trials bounties. Some will ask you to kill 100 Guardians with Void damage, others ask for 100 Orbs of Light generated.
He also has daily bounties which are smaller and more specific in scope, but (usually) easier to complete. Think along the lines of the other dailies which request 20 Scout Rifle kills, Super kills, etc. The good news is that many of these bounties include the words “As a fireteam” so you’re entire squad can progress bounties at the same time.
And that’s all we have right now! Best of luck grinding out the rewards this season. Looking for more Destiny 2 information? We have guides on all of the new exotics, what happened to this season’s ritual weapons (or lack thereof), and a full walkthrough for the new Seraph Tower public events.
