Destiny 2: Beyond Light is finally here after months and months of waiting. Acting as the next major chapter in this FPS/RPG hybrid, players will embark on a journey to Europa to battle against a Fallen leader called Eramis and learn more about the true nature of the Darkness. This expansion includes new characters, missions, endgame activities, weapons, exotics, and enemy types. One of the biggest draws is Stasis, a new subclass that allows our Guardian to utilize the Darkness. Undoubtedly most customizable class in Destiny 2, players will need to work to even unlock this subclass let alone the various Aspects and Fragments tied to them. While Aspects are class-specific, you can utilize Fragments across any of your classes.

How to Unlock Fragments

Before we start, you should know that unlocking Fragments will take quite a bit of work on your part. There are multiple quests you’ll need to even complete to gain access to Fragments. Your first step will be to unlock the Salvation’s Grip exotic grenade launcher and the Aspects. Salvation’s Grip is required to complete the Aspects quest given out by the Exo Stranger. So head to the Tower first and speak to the Drifter to get started. This is a pretty easy multi-step quest that has one of the funniest story missions in recent memory. Once you have Salvation’s Grip, you’ll need to complete the Aspect of Control quest that the Exo Stranger offers. We also have a guide for this, showing the different locations of the five Entropic Shards you need to destroy. Finally, after finishing this quest and earning your very first Aspect, return to the Exo Stranger and talk to her. She will offer you three different Fragment quests, each of which is tied to one of the three fundamental activities: Gambit, Crucible, or Strikes. You can only select two of the three available quests per week, each of which tasks you with completing different tasks such as freezing enemies, killing Guardians, or collecting items from bosses.

Completing these quests will unlock a Fragment that you can slot into your Guardian’s Stasis subclass. How many Fragments you can equip is entirely dependant on what Aspect you’re using. If you’re trying to be raid ready, I strongly suggest you wait on completing all the Fragments but the one tied to Strikes. This is because, completing Crucible and Gambit matches will prematurely give you a Pinnacle Reward, which is something you’ll want to save for later. The Strikes are fair game so long as the weekly element isn’t Stasis. These Fragments will modify how your abilities work, so make sure to equip them!
