Destiny 2 Season of the Lost is here and we’re heading back to The Dreaming City. Acting as a prologue to The Witch Queen expansion, this season revolves around freeing Savathun from her worm god to save Osiris from her clutches. Along with a new seasonal activity, players can also obtain new armor, weapons, exotics, and in-game consumables. Similar to previous seasons, you will need to acquire a new in-game currency that is used to upgrade your Wayfinder’s Compass, open chests at the end of the Astral Alignment, or decrypt Umbral Engrams. Called “Parallax Trajectory,” this item will be raining down upon you as you play through various activities this season.
How to Get Parallax Trajectory
Thankfully, there are numerous ways you can obtain Parallax Trajectories throughout Destiny 2. The most common method is by completing playlist activities such as Crucible, Strikes, or Gambit. These will award a minimum of 100 Parallax Trajectories, but you can obtain more by purchasing the Astral Harvester upgrade from the Wayfinder’s Compass. Given how you will be often playing these activities to obtain Pinnacle rewards, you should typically have a few hundred on you at any time. Keep in mind, the Astral Alignment will not give you any Parallax Trajectories.
Additionally, you will randomly earn 3 Parallax Trajectories whenever you kill an enemy. However, the drop rate for this is pretty low which is odd given how expensive all of the upgrades are. You can also hunt down Ascendant Anchors, which appear weekly and are scattered all throughout patrol zones. At the time of writing this, you can find 20 in the EDZ and 10 in the new Shattered Realm activity. Youtuber Esoterickk made a video detailing their locations if you want to hunt them all down. Picking one up will give you 30 Parallax Trajectories, so they definitely are worth looking for. Plus, there is a Weekly Challenge tied to finding them that rewards XP and raises your Wayfinder’s Compass level.
If you’re looking to farm Parallax Trajectories then your best method is actually completing Heroic Public Events. These award 88 Parallax Trajectories upon completion and take around 2-3 minutes to finish depending on how many people are participating. Given you can just complete these in quick succession, it’s far and away the best method for farming Parallax Trajectories. While you can get a great sum of Parallax Trajectories by finishing Nightfalls or other playlist activities, this is the fastest method for amassing a lot of the currency. Plus, if you don’t manage to trigger the Heroic modifier, you will still earn 75 Parallax Trajectories, which is a solid amount.
That being said, if you are not in the mood to complete Public Events then just load up the Lake of Shadows strike and run that. Strikes reward a solid amount and with a coordinated fireteam, this strike can be beaten in under 10 minutes consistently. I recommend avoiding Gambit, Wrathborn Hunts, Battlegrounds, and Crucible since these can take a bit more time. You will want to solely stick to Public Events and Strikes if you intend to farm this new material.
