Destiny 2 Heir Apparent Guide - Required Class Act Triumphs to Unlock the New Exotic

The brand new Guardian Games event is finally here and there’s a bunch of new loot that Destiny 2 players can nab. While many will be focusing on improving their team’s point total, others will be hunting down the brand new Heir Apparent exotic machine gun. Revealed during the Guardian Games announcement trailer, this weapon looks like the badass baby of Xenophage and Sweet Business.

Similar to other events, the Heir Apparent will only be available during the Guardian Games event. After the event ends, players will have to wait until Bungie puts this gun into the loot pool. This is because, the weapon’s quest requires you to complete steps that can only be completed during the games. If you do miss the gun, expect it to arrive sometime later this year during one of the upcoming seasons.

How to Get Heir Apparent

To get this new exotic machine gun you will need to complete the event Triumph, Class Act. This Triumph requires you to complete any seven Guardian Games 2020 Triumphs before the event ends. This is actually not that bad, as there are a total of 11 Guardian Game Triumphs not including Class Act. The majority of these Triumphs revolve around redeeming Medals or picking up Laurels in specific activities. You should have no issue getting seven Triumphs done, especially if you play a lot of Destiny 2.

Here are all of the available triumphs though obviously the first two can’t count towards Heir Apparent.

  • Star Athlete: Complete all Triumphs for the Guardian Games 2020.
  • Class Act: Complete any seven Guardian Games 2020 Triumphs.
  • Renowned: Earn 5000 points by collecting laurels from super, grenade, and charged melee final blows.
    • Your own class = 3 points. Other classes = 1 point.
  • Great Deeds: Collect 400 laurels in Gambit matches, 500 in strikes, 600 in forges, and 1000 on destinations
  • Gold Medalist: Redeem 30 gold medals.
  • Medalist: Redeem 75 medals.
  • Show Your Colors: Earn points by completing Guardian Games bounties.
    • Weekly = 4 points. Daily = 2 points. Repeatable = 1 point.
  • Represent: Defeat 400 combatants with abilities in Vanguard strikes and Nightfalls.
  • Quintuple Threat: Redeem one gold medal for Crucible, Gambit, Strikes, destinations, and forges.
  • World Class: Redeem 20 forge or destination medals.
  • Guardian Gamble: Redeem 10 Gambit medals.
  • Embrace the Light: Defeat 25 Guardians with Supers in the Rumble playlist.

However, if you are looking to get this finished as fast as possible, then we recommend going after the following Triumphs:

  • Represent
  • Embrace the Light
  • Medalist
  • Great Deeds
  • World Class
  • Guardian Gamble
  • Renowned

These are the simplest of the Triumphs but don’t expect to complete them all in a day. Many of these need you to earn Gold Medals, which are only handed out by Eva. Remember, you can complete additional medals by going on your other characters. Just make sure not to bank any of the points you earn if you are rooting for a specific class. There is no other way to earn the Heir Apparent, so if you want this machine gun then be prepared to participate in Guardian Games.

For the unfamiliar, the Heir Apparent is a Heavy weapon that boasts a 200 bullet magazine and 900 RPM (Rounds-per-Minute). The intrinsic perk is Armor of the Colossus, which grants an Arc shield when the user spins up the gun at full health. Think of it as a tank weapon, used to absorb additional damage from enemies. It also sports Appended Mag, Combat Grip, and Corkscrew Rifling for additional range and stability. While it may not match the Xenophage for raw damage, having a second shield to soak incoming fire could be useful in higher tier activities.

This is an easy exotic to obtain, so make sure not to miss your chance!
