It’s busy season! Both the Beyond Light expansion and the Season of the Hunt have arrived side by side. As a result, you’ll be earning more rewards than usual, so let’s dig into what the season pass has to offer. How Much Does a Destiny 2 Season Pass Cost?
Any given Season Pass costs 1000 Silver. That’s about $10. However, the Season Edition of Beyond Light comes with the currently active Season Pass. In addition, the Collector’s Edition and Digital Deluxe Editions of Beyond Light come with all four Season Passes in Year 4. That includes the currently active Season of the Hunt.
Are Season Passes Cross Save Compatible?
Yes! Unlike the expansions, if you have a Season Pass on PC, you also have the rights to it on Xbox and PS4. This goes both ways, if you’re a console player, too.
When Does the Season of the Hunt End?
According to the in-game display, Season of the Hunt ends in just under 91 days which puts us at about February 9, 2021.
How Do I Earn Season Pass XP?
The Destiny 2 Season Pass has 100 ranks each ten week season, with both a Free and Premium track. Progress is earned from plain old XP — so you don’t have to switch up your playstyle to earn the rewards. Complete the usual Vanguard, Crucible, Gambit bounties, and the seasonal activity for efficient gains. But even things like Lost Sectors and Public Events will work! You can also earn XP via Eris on the Moon or from any of the other planetary vendors. Your first five levels each week get double XP, too.
Season of the Hunt Season Pass Rewards
As a reminder, Bungie has changed how it handles seasonal content. Content no longer rotates out at the end of the season, but instead sticks around until we reach the end of Year 4. We don’t yet know if that includes methods of earning the season pass weapons and armor, but we’ll find out in time.
Another change is that all Eververse Bright Engrams now contain every item sold in Eververse from at least three seasons ago. For example, the Season of the Hunt Bright Engrams contain all content from Seasons 1 through 9.
The Season of the Hunt Season Pass rewards include:
- Exotic Shotgun: Duality
- Exotic quests, seasonal armor sets, and ornaments
- A new finisher, one Exotic emote, and an ornament (for Duality)
- A new sparrow and ghost shell (which can now all use Guiding Light)
- New emblem, shaders, and transmat effect
- Unspecified seasonal bonuses (like extra XP gains for you and your party members)
- 10,500 Bright Dust (to purchase items from the Eververse)
- The usual exotic engrams, enhancement cores, ascendant shards, seasonal gear, and planetary material bundles
