We’re almost halfway through Apex Legends Season 12 and the new Warriors event has just dropped. Revolving around ancient gladiatorial-themed armor, players will have a whole bunch of new cosmetics to chase after. While many are locked behind spending money, some items — such as weapon charms and skins — can be earned by obtaining Points throughout the event.

However, the most exciting addition to the event is a gold Mozambique called Ol’ Nessie, which makes its debut this April Fools’ Day. Capable of launching mini-plush killer dinosaurs, the Ol Nessie gun is a unique addition that everyone will be fighting over.

How to Get Ol’ Nessie

Unsurprisingly, Ol’ Nessie is a pretty rare weapon to find in the arena, but thankfully Respawn has marked specific locations where it will spawn. When you’re in the dropship, look for faint orange columns of light at or around Points of Interest (shown above). These mark where the Nessie eggs have spawned this game, so jump out of the Dropship and head towards one. There are a number of different areas it could spawn, so don’t rely on it always being in the same spot! Just keep an eye out for those faint pillars of light and you will easily be able to track where it is this round.

When you land, there will be a cluster of giant eggs that can be destroyed by either punching or shooting them. Upon their destruction, a single gold Mozambique will drop along with a clip of shotgun ammo. Unlike a Mozambique, this weapon will only have two shots in the magazine and won’t actually fire any bullets. Instead, it will launch cute plush Nessies that will attack the nearest enemies. Think of them as Prowlers or those giant spiders, but if they only fought for your team. Each Nessie does 12 damage per hit, but you can have more than one on the field at any time.

So long as you have shotgun ammo, you can swarm enemies with an endless barrage of bloodthirsty stuffed animals! There are no alternate fire modes or attachments for this gun, and each egg only spawns a single Ol’ Nessie. Since this gun is in such a limited supply, expect a lot of people to be landing at the egg and fighting over it. Almost every time I landed to grab one, there were other players I had to fight for control of this weapon. Keep in mind that you can destroy the Nessies if they’re chasing you. However, can you really bring yourself to murder such an adorable creature? I thought not. All hail our new Apex Legends ruler, Nessie!
