AFK Journey Banners Explained
Much like any solid gacha game, AFK Journey's diverse cast of characters is its most attractive feature. No matter how many you already have under your belt, you'll want another or a specific new character when it drops. This is where AFK Journey banners come in.
They offer different pools of characters to pull or wish from. You'll typically use a form of in-game currency to do so, whether that be Diamonds or something else, and the character you get depends on a chance system. With four banners to pull from, the possibilities and probabilities all differ when it comes to AFK Journey.
All-Hero Recruitment
The All-Hero Recruitment banner is the game's standard banner, so to speak. You can get every single character available in-game from this banner aside from any Celestial or Hypogean heroes. You can pull from the base All-Hero Recruitment banner in AFK Journey with Invite Letters and Diamonds.
For 300 Diamonds, you can summon or wish for one character from this banner. If you do 10 pulls at once, however, you can get a nice discount and pay just 2,700 Diamonds. In this case, it's better to never use your Diamonds for just one wish. You'll also get at least one A-Level character with each pull of 10.

After you pull over 30 times from the All-Hero Recruitment banner, you'll gain access to the Wishlist function which allows you to select two S-Level characters and two A-Level characters per faction each. Once you fill this Wishlist up, each character you pull will be one of those you've selected.
If you're wondering about the possibility of a pity system, there is indeed one. The pity system for this banner commences after your first 10 pulls and increases each time you snag an S-Level character. It does stop at 60 pulls, though.
Epic Recruitment
The Epic Recruitment banner offers better rates and the availability of the Wishlist system right from the beginning. However, you cannot use normal Invite Letters to pull from this second pool. Instead, you have to use Epic Invite Letters instead which you'll obtain as you progress through the game's story.
You can also get these special items from shops. Despite its immediate availability, the Wishlist also functions differently. You can only add five characters to it in total. The rates for S-Level and A-Level heroes are overall much better, though, and the pity system is still present.

The pity mechanic starts at 10 character pulls much like it does with the All-Hero Recruitment banner, increasing whenever you snag an S-Level character. There is one major difference in the pity system with the Epic Recruitment banner when comparing it to the All-Hero Recruitment banner.
Unlike the standard banner, the pity system ceases to have an effect after just 30 pulls, capping in half the time that the All-Hero Recruitment banner's own does. Just like the first banner, though, you'll also get at least one A-Level character with each pull of 10 characters.
Rate Up Recruitment
The Rate Up recruitment banner is unique as its primary purpose is to introduce Lilith Games' brand-new characters or offer special promotions on older characters. Whenever you pull an S-Level hero, you'll obtain an item each time.
If the hero you pull is an A-Level, you'll instead draw eight whole copies of them. The amount of Rate Up heroes that you can collect in this banner depends on the highest tier of your other heroes.

The amount of Rate Up heroes that you can collect in this banner depends on the highest tier of your other heroes. You can pull from the Rate Up Recruitment banner using Rate Up Invite Letters and Diamonds, with a single pull costing 300 Diamonds and no discount for 10 pulls like there is when taking from the standard banner.
The pity system exists with this banner, too, but it commences at 40 pulls and never increases. Pull rates for S-Level heroes are much better with the Rate Up Recruitment banner than they are with the All-Hero Recruitment banner as well.
Stargaze Station
The Stargaze Station is special, as it's the only banner from which you can obtain both Celestial and Hypogean characters. Unfortunately, you won't have access to this unique pool of characters for quite a while, however, as you must rack up a whopping 400 pulls total with the preceding banners.
You can pick any Celestial or Hypogean character you'd like to when you're pulling from the Stargaze Station pool, where you'll have a 3.25% chance of obtaining them with each attempt. You can't use Diamonds to pull from the Stargaze Station banner, though, and must instead use Stellar Crystals.

This rare currency is available to buy in limited quantities via the Guild Store and Recruitment Store. Aside from these high-tier characters, you may also pull Diamonds and upgrade-related items for equipment such as Dazzling Stones or Ruin Stones.
The pity system exists here, too, and is set to 40 pulls much like it is in the Rate Up Recruitment banner's own. Similarly again, there is also no increase after said 40 pulls.
